Crazy MapleDirector, editor, writer — working between Los Angeles and Lima.
Work built on twenty years of editing, writing, and directing across features, series, and short form.
Thomas L. Sanchez is a writer, director, and editor working between Los Angeles and Lima. His feature debut, La Navaja de Don Juan, was shot in Peru's capital, distributed by Indican Pictures, and selected to the Austin Film Festival before being licensed to Starz/Encore Español. His 2019 short, El Remedio, premiered at Outfest LA and the Oaxaca Film Festival and was acquired by HBO Max and HBO Latino.
As an editor, he has spent two decades shaping story across Hulu, Apple TV+, MTV, Bravo, TLC, A&E, and Discovery ID — including The D'Amelio Show, Catfish, Outdaughtered, Planet of the Apps, and Muslim Matchmaker.
Recent work spans two emerging fronts: vertical micro-dramas for short-form streaming, and the generative toolset defining the next wave of production — Google Veo, Grok Imagine, and ElevenLabs.
He holds an MFA in Film and Television Production from the USC School of Cinematic Arts and a B.A. in Journalism and Mass Communications from Creighton University.
